psychic hearts

travis and i went out to easthampton mass last night to see thurston moore perform his album psychic hearts. the event was in support of the pioneer valley performing arts language studies program....( $12, they're raising money to send french students to paris....his daughter is a student there). great show, hosted by the flywheel community arts center, there was maybe 100 people there. great loose atmosphere, the boys played acoustic, jumping around from track to track. thurston included loose banter in between the songs giving a little insight to the inspiration for some of the tracks. tales of patti smith, richard hell, winona ryder, kurt cobain and a hilarious gig gone wrong (being invited to open for the black crowes at irvine plaza(?!) by the end the crowd coaxed the band into playing every track off the record. the acoustic tracks sounded great, but he still had the rat pro down on the floor and when the moments to stomp down came, tm did what he does best, melt your face.....oh yeah, for the wondering tmz gossip types....kim was there.

backstage pass

i went and checked out the "backstage pass" photo exibit at the currier museum in manchester. 35 photographers displaying what seemed like close to 100 clasic rock photos....you should go, well worth the ten bucks.
